Recently, I’ve noticed how I’m cutting off narratives and dialogues that run through my head. You know the sort of thing, we tell ourselves a story of what’s going on in our heads and we rehearse conversations with others when we know we’ll never actually have that conversation with them.
At those times, we create a false idea of self and the world, fixing limitations and feeding ego.
Instead, we can become aware of our internal dialogue as it starts up and choose to cut it off in mid-flow. Because if we let it run, it feeds our life, it becomes us. We are engaging with emotions that don’t serve us and aren’t even our truth.
It feels good to let it go, it feels like finding inner peace. I’ve noticed that my inner peace and contentment have increased commensurate with the reduction of my self dialogue.
