The Dance of Life And Death

Sometimes, things end

Sometimes, stuff breaks down

Sometimes, everything falls apart

Whether it’s plans, dreams, hopes,

Whether it’s society, culture, structure,

Whether it’s relationships, career, status.

Whether it’s the lives of the ones we love

Or a complete stranger, or our own life.

It’s transformation

It clears the way for something new.

It’s a death.

And death begets life

Death cleanses

Death heals

Death creates a new beginning.

Do not fear change

Do not forsake what needs to be dissolved.

Do not deny the death of what is ready to transform.

Embrace the process

And let the fresh green shoots grow.

Embrace your truth,

The old ‘you’ dies

The old life is ready to fall by the wayside.

The new is constantly waiting to be born.

Our fear of death is as much about our fear of life, our fear to live.

We fear change and cling to the familiar.

The challenge is often that we are not good enough, we are not worthy,

We cannot step up.

Be brave, beautiful soul, you were made for this constant dance of death and life.

They are always present, whether you fear them or not,

Whether you engage or not.

You are worthy, you always were.

You are worthy to fully engage in truth

And death is truth

Life is truth

They are both beautiful and necessary

You are safe with them, they belong with us.

Surrender, trust, accept, receive.

Why Death is Our Dear Friend

Why do we need to visit death in order to understand life?

Why do we need to experience lack in order to understand abundance?

Why do we need to be abandoned in order to find the love inside ourselves?

Because…

How can we understand the light without knowing darkness?

How can we appreciate sound without comprehending silence?

How can we come to know our blessings unless we have suffered some misfortune?

So it is that misfortune is our wise teacher.

Silence is our welcome guest.

Darkness is our loving guide.

Abandonment is our great gift.

Lack is our secret treasure.

Death is our dear friend.

Death is Our Teacher

Death is a subject close to my heart.  Being a psychopomp, a fancy Greek word meaning one who guides souls, death is ever present as a part of my role.  A psychopomp travels energetically using shamanic skills to connect with those who are in the process of departing through the transition we call death.  I help people and animals to pass over and also guide souls who are stuck, such as we might call hauntings, supporting them to move towards the light, enabling them to cross into the realms of spirit.

I have found that the role of the psychopomp is all about those who are left behind, those sitting on the sidelines whilst a loved one is going through the process we call death.  Many times, I am present to support them, to help them let go, to be reassured, to move through their grief.

Everyone is touched by death, sooner or later, we all lose someone we love.  And it’s hard.  It’s even harder that we belong to a culture that is not comfortable talking about death.  We are all concerned, not only with the grief of loss, but our own ageing and eventual demise.  How do we understand it, how to we prepare for it?  How do we talk to our children about it?  The truth is, so many don’t really know how or what to say and there are such discrepancies about what happens next.

Personally, I feel very sure about what happens next, having had a lot of evidence from a young age to support my understanding, but this is the kind of evidence that cannot easily be shared.

Recently, I’ve been working on a project with my niece, Psychic Medium and Rune Witch, Chloe Elgar.  She is someone who is very much in touch with death and embraces it along with life.  We have been exploring some of the energies death brings us.  That inspired me to consider running an online workshop on the subject of death because I really see there’s a need for us all to explore this together.  But then I thought, who will come to that?  And I let the idea fall away.  Then, a conversation led me to reconsider.  I was talking to a mother who was watching her twelve year old son struggling with the idea of death, and just as this was unfolding for him, his beloved one year old cat was hit and killed by a car outside his house.  He was devastated.  He is really getting an initiation into death from the energies on his path, it seems.  As we talked, I realised we do need to have workshops on death.  We do need to know how to help children manage the emotions and the ideas it brings, and not just children, we are just as much in need as adults.

And from there, my next online workshop project was born.  Expect a few posts on this subject as I plan and develop the content of this new and, I feel, vital energy workshop.  As always, I will be calling in light beings from the inner planes, channelling their wisdom and supporting a deep state of awareness for participants to receive deep transformation in the understanding and embracing of the wisdom death offers us.

Catalytic Shifts

Here on the Earth, we are moving from fear into love, from darkness into light, from duality into oneness.

This is such an amazing transformational process and it is occurring within our beings and projecting into our realities.

Such transformations require us to be gentle, loving and patient with ourselves.

We see aspects of ourselves emerging from within our being and from within others.

We may dislike what we recognise emerging but there is a need to not take the tremendous releasing process that’s occurring so personally.

Do not allow yourself to become attached to what emerges from within you, whether it is of a negative or positive vibration.

The greatest tool that can be used at this time of ascension is observation.

When energies, or even your perspective, shifts from darkness to light or negative to positive within your being, this signifies another great clearing and a deeper awakening of your divinity.

You Are the Catalyst for Change

Think of a situation in your life that is causing you difficulty, upheaval, pain, or stress.

Imagine if you approached the situation with the awareness that unconditional, eternal, limitless love exists within your being and that you can easily express, embody, and ground this love.

This means love would manifest through your actions, reactions, expressions, creations, and thoughts.

The way you communicate, both with yourself and with others, would alter and transform dramatically.

Try to imagine the unconditional, eternal, limitless love within your being at this moment.

Imagine, sense, or acknowledge that it is radiating outwards.

Then, think of the difficult situation, radiate this love to the difficult situation.

As you do so, observe your perspective, the way you perceive yourself and the situation.
Notice if it changes in any way.

The more love you send to the situation, the more it will transform within your being.

The difficult situation will transform within your being because it was created from an energy within your being.

Therefore, this will naturally be projected into your life, experienced by you in the coming hours, days, weeks, or months.

Imagine if you approach every single situation and experience from this space, you will begin to create a momentum.

You are the catalyst for change and the creation of love.

With a focus on the power of your love, you create a loving reality and a loving sense of being for yourself to experience every day.

Seeing in the Dark

Have you ever thought, how far can you see during the day compared to at night?

So much further, right? Not so…

At night, we can see the Andromeda galaxy with the naked eye, which is about thirteen million trillion miles away.

And during the day it is the bright light of the sun that limits our distant vision.

Who says you can’t see in the dark?

Embrace the dark, it is when we see in the dark that we see furthest.
