Magickal Sacrifice

I’ve been aware of the value of sacrifice lately.  Sacrifice is a common element of ceremony and magick.  It’s about giving up energy and is usually part of an exchange.  Sacrifice is only of value when we’re giving up something we care about.

What might you choose to give up?  When is the right time for you to make a sacrifice?  How would you meaningfully do so?

We make these exchanges all the time.  We pay money for goods and services, financial payment is a form of sacrifice and a reason I don’t give my services for free anymore, although I’m always happy to discuss what kind of energy exchange a person is prepared to make for what they receive.  There needs to be an exchange of some sort and it needs to be commensurate and valued, otherwise the receiver isn’t going to respect what they gain.  What I do is coming from spirit through me and spirit expects some kind of energy exchange.

There are many ways we make sacrifices, giving up our time or caring for somebody, whether or not we feel we have a choice. We do have a choice, we could walk away, even when a powerful sense of duty or guilt motivates us.  Sacrifice is chosen but we may believe we don’t have an option when we do.

One of the ways that sacrifice has become apparent in my life recently is in lightening the load.  By that, I mean reducing material possessions.  This is not always easy, sometimes it’s difficult to let go when giving away books or thinning out the wardrobe.  And what’s the pay off?  It’s provided me with a sense of lightness, space and personal freedom.  It’s felt a bit scary because I’ve removed much of what felt comforting and difficult to part with, but afterwards I appreciated the space and felt less inclined to refill that space with new things.  There’s something really satisfying in weighing up the value of each item in my life.  By value, I don’t mean monetary value, I mean what sparks joy.  A big ‘thank you’ to my soul sister, Emma, who gave me this nugget of wisdom.

It’s the deliberate action of making sacrifice as a part of some magickal intent that really calls me, the power and transformation that can be invoked.  Sacrifice makes me think of offerings, making gifts to Mother Earth, nature, the elementals or the ancestors at sacred places.  More and more, I leave them energetic gifts.  It used to be little crystals, dried sage or food.  Now, I often materialise an energetic sun or maybe a diamond or heart emanating love.  It means I always have something to give, even when my pockets are empty.  Sometimes, it might be a hair from my head or a prick of blood from my thumb.  It’s the intent, sincerity, love, peace and gratitude that matter.  And I may ask for nothing, perhaps just to pass through a place peacefully and safely.

When it comes to magickal spell-work, the bigger the gesture or sacrifice, the greater the energy we unleash.  The greater the energy, the more we can do with it.  Sacrifice in ceremony may be used for letting go of what no longer serves us and cutting ties.  For this, I might break a sacred tool or object, much as our ancestors broke a precious sword or mirror in two and placed it in the river, lake or bog.

There are times we are called to give something up, whether it’s something from inside ourselves, of ourselves or something precious to us.  When we do, sometimes we are purposely calling in something new, something we are specifically looking for.  And sometimes, we are releasing and allowing whatever is ready for us to come fill the space we made.

Be aware, with magickal work, sometimes there’s a backlash, especially when we receive something profound.  We may have an extra price to pay, one that we weren’t expecting.  It may be in the form of making us unwell.  It’s best to take it as a positive, evidence that our request was heard and accepted.  We will get better, as long as our protection is good, we are being challenged as spiritual warriors and energy workers and it’s a part of our growth and maturing as practitioners to be so.  When we seek transformation and empowerment, when we ask to be fast-tracked to higher levels, don’t always expect a free ride.

Abundance is Who We Are

What is abundance to you?  Is it having everything?  Is it being rich?  What is being rich?  Is it having lots of money?  Perhaps it’s those moments when something touches your heart, when you see something differently?

Abundance is all of those and more.  If we are divine beings, if we are complete, then we are abundant.  And yet, the idea of being divine or complete may be even more of a challenge than considering ourselves abundant.

Many grow up with a feeling of lack or scarcity.  A sense of limitation, of poverty in some sort of manner, whether material or emotional or something else.  If we grew up feeling we weren’t good enough, then we experienced lack.  Lack of love and lack of worthiness.  And abundance is the opposite of that.

Abundance is limitless love, limitless worth and regard, abundance is being enough, having enough, always more than enough.  Abundance is not limited to one, it is unity consciousness.  We can only be abundance because we are energy beings that are not, in truth, separate, we are collective energy of the divine source scattered but always connected.  As the divine source, we are everything and therefore we are abundant.

Imagine that you can hear angels singing.  Imagine what that might sound like.  There is such harmony, resonance, beauty, richness, sweetness, peace and love emanating from this sacred choir of angels.  So much so, it would easily bring tears to your eyes, tears of joy and bliss.  The sound is complex because it weaves together multitudinous levels, tones and vibrations.  You begin to realise that you are not hearing the sound with your ears but with your entire being, with every cell and particle of your body, mind and spirit.  This is the sound of the universe.  You realise, more and more, that this is the sound of all-that-is and that your personal sound is present within this celestial orchestra too.

The sacred sound flows through your being, stirring every part of you.  Notice how it resonates for you, with you.  See if you can pick out the sound that is originating from your core.  What does the harmony that emanates from your core sound like?  Is it not truly beautiful?  Does it not resonate perfectly with the angelic choir?  And as you tune in again to the whole, are you not aware of the expansiveness of this united harmonious sound?  You are hearing the sound of every soul, every living being or energy, visible or invisible.  Every note is different and diverse and yet, the entirety and wholeness of this sacred vibration is unified, whole and complete, as are you.

You are as equal and important as any other note that is present in that immense celestial choir.

How did you experience the sound?  Was it energy moving through your being?  Was it expressed as an emotional experience?  Did you sense the energy and power of the vibrations viscerally within your chest cavity?  The universal frequencies may be so subtle as to be beyond the human experience, and yet you still receive them as your soul.

The song you heard, the multi-layered melody of the spheres of which you and all-there-is is a part, this is the sound of divine abundance.  Divine abundance is your very essence, your very nature, your very truth.  And divine abundance is everywhere all the time, manifesting.  It is the material with which matter is created, it is the source of all creation, for that is the nature of sound.

Divine abundance flows through you constantly and is available to you always.  If you are perceiving lack or limitation of any sort, then you are perceiving illusions created from deep wounds and those wounds can be healed instantly by bathing in the sounds of the spheres, the harmonies of divine abundance of which you are constantly a part.  You are never not in the flow.

The Best Crystal Ever

You may know me as a shamanic healer and energy worker but long before that, I fell in love with crystals and became a trained crystal healer.

I love crystals, love to hold and feel them, but the longer I have been working with them, the more I’ve learned that you don’t need the physical crystal with you in order to work with its energy.  I also found out what the most incredible crystal of them all is, the one with the most mineral content, the most potential for healing and the most incredible possibilities for transformation.  It’s one that you certainly have in your possession, everybody has this crystal.

When I started to channel, one of the energies that came through is the Crystalline Consciousness, and you can read their messages here, here and here.  They are what it says, the energetic consciousness of all that is crystalline.  They exist on the inner planes where they have their own school or ashram and you can go there energetically to learn all sorts of things.  One of the things they have taught me is that they are present when I am painting in the minerals that make up my paints.  Therefore, I can connect with the paints themselves energetically, as though they are crystals, the minerals may be ground down, yet they are still a medium through which the crystalline consciousness expresses through me.  If you’re a painter too, think of that the next time you get your paints out.  Another way they are present is the internet, through mobile phones, computers and TVs, none of which could operate without the crystalline presence within them.

When I’m channelling and the crystalline consciousness come through, they sometimes refer to humans as ‘scintillating crystal beings’ which is lovely. And we are, we are the most incredible crystal of all.

Not only do we contain something like fifty-seven mineral elements that make up our body, but we are mostly water, which is crystalline. Our body is amazing. Even when you’re out and about without your crystals, you’re still carrying lithium, molybdenum, manganese, chromium, selenium, iodine, boron, vanadium, copper, strontium, zinc, fluorine, iron, silicon, magnesium, chlorine, sodium, sulphur, potassium, phosphorous, calcium and carbon with you all the time, along with another twenty-three minerals, inside your body. And these all have powerful healing energies that you can tune into and energise. Because the secret ingredient of all crystal healing is intent.

It’s because we are crystals ourselves that we can connect so powerfully to the consciousness of crystals through the stones and rocks that we love to hold, to place around our homes and wear as jewellery on our bodies.  But even though their physical presence helps us to focus into their energy, when we become more adept, we don’t need them, we can connect to their energies automatically through the crystalline consciousness, just by focusing our energy whilst in a state of relaxation and bringing that energy forward.  Simply ask the crystalline consciousness to come forward and it will.

If you feel the need to receive the energy from a particular crystal, just ask to receive it through your being there and then.  If you need healing and don’t know which crystal you need, simply ask to receive the appropriate crystal energy for your condition.  And you can connect to your personal favourite crystals if you’re miles away from them, in the same way.

When you’re working with any crystal, you are not working with a piece of stone or a gem, you’re working with the energy, the consciousness that is attached to that physical object, just as we are light beings attached to a physical body, but we can exist as light beings without our body too.  We do that when we sleep, when we transition after death and when we travel with our energy bodies in meditation, healing and shamanic journeying.

When you’re an energy worker, you are consciously your energy self, a self that is not subject to the limitations of space or time. And in being so, we discover that this is the true nature of reality, so we begin to realise that the things around us are also energy and not restricted by their physicality.
