Beauty: A Symphony of Love

I use the word ‘beauty’ a lot and recently stopped to ponder what it means to me.

It isn’t so much about the appearance of things but a feeling. It’s an harmonious feeling. A soft, gentle feeling.

Beauty is something deep, like roots probing into the Earth. There’s nothing surface level about the beauty that I am feeling.

It’s a Goddess vibe, the divine feminine is expressed through its energy.

Beauty is strong like the trunk of a magnificent tree. It wraps you up, all soft pink and white, like chiffon and silk.

I feel beauty’s energy in my lower abdomen at the place known as the elixir field, the sea of my chi, the lower dantien (two finger widths below the navel). When my left hand rests over my right hand (right over left if you’re male) at my dantien, then beauty is invoked like a sacred fragrance through my being.

Beauty becomes a symphony of love when other qualities harmonise with it. Peace and serenity are engaged. The energy consists of strands that are braided together, as peace, love and serenity make a ‘beauty braid’.

When peace, love and serenity are present, that’s when beauty comes into being. A quality that can be felt and embodied whenever it’s invoked.

The Doorway to the Temple

Take a moment to consider your mouth, an entrance into the body along with certain other openings.  What we put in our body in the form of liquids, food, medicine is absorbed and distributed throughout the body.  Everything that enters our body has an impact at every level, not only physically but emotionally, mentally and spiritually.  Our body is the temple of our soul and the mouth and other bodily openings are doorways into the temple.

Nothing should go through those doorways and enter our inner sanctum without considering it’s worth and sacredness. We wouldn’t leave the door of our house wide open and let just anyone walk in, would we? That would be reckless, unsafe and unwise. But we seem willing to pop all sorts of crap into our mouths. Let nothing go inside unless it’s worthy of your divine essence. Let nothing become a part of your energy, by entering through your holy doorways to be absorbed into your temple unless it is a sacrament to your divinity.

Imagine considering every bite, every sip, every substance, every penetration that enters your holy gateways, in terms of their worthiness to enter your body. That would require holding yourself in the highest esteem and valuing your purity. You would become aware of the energy with which they enrich your being, sensing how each act of receiving into your being fulfils you, not in terms of instant gratification and momentary desire, but nourishing you on every level as the divine being you are.

It changes our relationship with food, with the substances we have addictions to, dysfunctional relationships, as is the case with alcohol and drugs. It makes us see ourselves differently. When I stopped and considered all this, I was drinking a mug of black coffee. I had to look down at that coffee, really think about what I was putting in my body, really see my mouth as the doorway to the holy temple that houses my sacred soul. I struggled with the desire to keep drinking, but in the end, I poured it away.

Our lifestyles have got so we can hardly avoid substances that are not kind to us, sugar, coffee, alcohol, additives, they are everywhere. My body has started fighting back, it gives me physical reactions like diarrhoea, indigestion, nausea, fatigue and lethargy and all because I eat things my body is telling me not to put in my mouth anymore. My body is telling me it’s time to radically change my relationship to what I put in my holy temple. This requires the restructure of a complicated relationship. My relationship with food is hugely emotional and that’s where I need to make the first change.

I am restructuring my relationship with food through working with the energy templates that encompass my attitude towards food and towards my body. I feel sad for my body. I’ve abused it so badly and it’s time to put things right.

What I’ve come to realise is that I’ve been programmed to be a human dustbin. This body of mine has been treated like a dustbin, not a temple. I am moving forward one step at a time, embracing a higher energy because I know I am worthy of caring for myself from a place of love and respect.

The Sensual Sacredness of Sexual Presence

“The value of the personal relationship to all things is that it creates intimacy and intimacy creates understanding and understanding creates love.” – Anais Nin

Sexuality and sex are not the same.

Sexuality is a nuance. An energy. A power.

Sexuality is worn like a softly clinging gown.

It’s an attitude, but not one that’s contrived, not like flirting, nothing so obvious or intentional.

Sexuality cannot be switched on and off, it oozes in every movement, every moment.

It’s natural. A desire to sip from the cup of life.

A sensual embrace with touch, taste, scent, caress, kiss.

It’s an art that ignites in the furnace of passion.

And whether it’s passion for a lover or the salacious delight of eating a succulent fruit, the juices flow and sexuality wishes only to bite into life and tear it apart.

She who embodies sexuality knows she is Goddess.

She is a force, a fire.

She is in love with everything.

She is everything.

“It’s Just That You’re Not That Feminine.”

I beg to differ.

I’m feminine like a thunderstorm.

Feminine like the glint of a falcon talon.

Feminine like an ancient redwood.

Feminine like the orange glow of a grizzly bear in the sunset.

Feminine like a wolf on the hunt.

Feminine like decaying bones.

Feminine like the eye of an old whale.

Feminine like a roaring river.

Feminine like a sheer cliff overlooking a forest.

Feminine like a wildfire.

Feminine like a desert wind.

Feminine like a battle cry.

And yes.

Within my stones and bark and fur and fierce slit irises… I am as soft and enveloping as any woman whose blood ever beat red.

This is the Sovereigness.

I am her.

We are her.

We are an age of woman who has come in, representing the medicine of the Wilds.

We are not built to actualize your sense of masculinity through your traditional idea of femininity.

We are built to bring in the voice of our Mother.

Which is why Earth herself screams in our veins.

So, if what you really mean is,

“Your femininity is overwhelming”,

Then I understand.

It is to me, too.

Welcoming The Goddess Energies

Recently, I’ve entered into training with the Fellowship of Isis, Goddess training that will take me a year to complete, so I predict some majorly Goddess inspired posts appearing from time to time.

And indeed, even though the course itself doesn’t start until July, I have already entered into conversation and exploration with fellow students about the goddess energies.

And that got me pondering about the way the Goddess vibe has really never not been in my life.  I can’t speak for the cradle, but from being a little girl I had the deepest relationship with this energy that was both the land and also a kind of body-less consciousness of a feminine nature.

This was my most nurturing relationship throughout childhood. I had a difficult childhood and the active emotional response I experienced towards my adopted mother was fear. My sense of self was soon diminished in early life, well before the age of seven, and I didn’t make friends. So, taking the family dog walking in my wild backyard twice a day was my salvation. That time with the dog and the land saved me. I connected to this loving, gentle energy that I eventually identified as Mother Earth. She was everywhere but most of all, she was felt when I was in the landscape, on my own, with or without the dog. Then, I felt loved and held. And rooted and free.

So, it’s not surprising that the Goddess has been a huge focus throughout my adult life. My mother may have invoked fear but she also modelled how empowered women can be. Nobody was more powerful than she was in our family, in my little girl world.

It’s understandable that we pick up our ideas of Goddess and God from early relationships with our personal mother-figure and father-figure, whoever they are.

The Goddess vibration is a consciousness, one that splits into a myriad of facets. And I do believe that there are women who walked on Earth in physical bodies, women who embodied feminine divine energy and eventually came to hold the vibration of the Goddess Consciousness in their being. They now exist in the energetic world as Goddess beings. I speak of Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, Lady Quan Yin, to name but a few.

I take this understanding to the myths and legends, and I am a mythology nerd. There, Goddesses abound. Not only Greek and Roman pantheons, but Norse, Celtic, Hindu, Native American, you can go anywhere and find Goddesses. There are many stories that represent her and yet, do not name her, like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White. She is everywhere. All these are her many aspects, her qualities and energies.

The more I explore the Goddess energies, the more is revealed and yet, I’ll never get to the bottom of it all. And, of course I won’t, I never could. That’s as it should be. There’s a point when you’ve just got to stop trying to understand and simply absorb all that you are given to hold.

But what I’ve come to pondering is why am I splitting the divine into Goddess and God, when we are embracing oneness? Why am I focusing on the Goddess now? What does that do to my relationship with the Creator? Which is paramount to me.

The Goddess Consciousness is the embodiment of the divine feminine, which is rising now towards unity, and the Creator is the embodiment of all-that-is, the embodiment of oneness. How do I reflect the divine feminine and divine masculine within me?

What’s your relationship with the Goddess like? Do you see past the personality of ‘Goddess’? Do you sense the energy, vibration, the consciousness of the divine feminine? Do you find the Goddess within you?

The Goddess and The Wheel

The Goddess is complex and has many faces.  The ones most talked about are Maiden, Mother and Crone.  Personally, I see the Goddess in the turning of the Wheel of the Year and assign three moons to each Goddess aspect on the cycle, making four.  Maiden, Mother, Crone and one more.  I call this fourth face Bride, sometimes, she is the Sorceress.  The energy feels like this:

The first face is the Maiden, the story of divine feminine starts with her.
She is Sleeping Beauty or Snow White.
She’s a Winter’s landscape, like the land beneath snow.
She is waiting to grow into her power.
The acorn waits in the dark earth for the Spring sun to kiss it awake.
The acorn grows into the oak just as the Maiden grows into Bride, Mother and Crone.
Her womb is waiting to bleed.
The Maiden sits in the season of Winter on the Wheel of the Year, for she is first.
And the Celtic New Year begins at Samhain, last day of October.
Winter precedes all other seasons, just as the dark void gave birth to light.
Everything starts in the dark, as the baby is born from the dark womb.
The elemental energy of the Maiden is Air, for hers is the first breath.
She is assigned the moons of November, December and January.

We are now at Imbolc, last day of January.
The season when light returns and the earth wakes from slumber.
Powerful season of Fire and renewal.
The sun has kissed the Maiden and she has woken up.
Everything is stirring in nature, in her season.
The birds and beasts are mating and trees and plants are thrusting out their leaves.
Here sits the Bride, assigned three moons of February, March and April.
She is the May Queen whose potent, fiery blood brings transformation at Beltane.
Just as Spring transforms the land.
She is red and white, purity and blood, for her womb is fertile and not yet pierced.
She is the Enchantress.

The Goddess energy passes on at Beltane.
When the womb of the May Queen is pricked.
Life is growing within her dark womb.
The season of the Great Mother Goddess is here.
Divine Mother rules the moons of May, June and July.
She reigns through Summer, season of abundance and blessings.
She is the cornucopia of plenty.
She births the land as the magical child, the seed of humanity.
She reigns until July’s end, whence comes the festival of Lughnasadh.
Festival of the Child of Light, which is us, dear listener.
For we, and all beings upon the Earth are her children.
The earth is rich with flowers, corn and fruit during the season of the Great Mother.
The element of Earth is her gift to us.

At August’s start, power passes to the Crone.
Wise Woman, she is Elder.
She, who is Keeper of the Wheel of the Year.
Turner of the wheel.
She oversees the process of change.
She sits at the spinning wheel with the silver thread in her fingers.
Her element is Water, for water is a record keeper, as is the Crone.
To her are assigned three moons of August, September and October.
Her womb is not barren, it is the void.
Cave of inconceivable power.
It is the gaping gash of Sheela Na Gig.
She beckons us to enter.
To go inside ourselves and know who we are.
She sits in the season of the ancestors.
At Samhain, the ancestors are honoured.
And the Crone passes her power back to the Maiden.
The wheel begins again, not a circle but a spiral.

For this reason, as a woman in her Crone stage, it is mine to gift my power to the Maiden, imparting wisdom and teaching skills to one who is starting on the same journey I have travelled.  Already, the honour and opportunity has befallen me, more than once, in teaching my shamanic craft.  I hope that all women in their crone-years, the years we call peri-menopause, menopause and beyond, will gift some of their power to the Maiden, for she is a Bride-, a Mother-, a Crone-in-becoming.

We Crones are the ones who have travelled the full stretch of the road and passed through all four stations.  We are in our full power.  And if we don’t value that, if we don’t honour ourselves for all we are, who will?

The Crone

It is she who does not give a damn about what anyone thinks of her.

It is she who says what she means and means what she says.

It is she who is the perfect mirror in any situation, for she carries no agenda other than delivering the truth.

The crone is a woman who has suffered and from her suffering has come to know her wisdom.

She does not try to placate, assuage or please.  Her only desire is to be herself in every situation.

The crone is the one who we call upon when we feel insecure and unsure.  When we feel afraid that our own truth will alienate us or will cause others to criticize or condemn.

The crone speaks like a whip, her words come in a single crack, a sting but no reverberating pain.

She does not intend to judge or hurt or compare.  She only intends to reveal the truth.

Hence, she does not linger in resentment or confusion.

The crone’s wisdom is hard-earned.  She has travelled over and over into the darkness.

She knows that comfort only comes through discomfort, and that liberation only comes from within.

The crone is an archetype that has been ostracized and forgotten.

She is pushed into the cellars of our collective unconscious.

If a woman is old, then she is worthless.  If she is wrinkled, she is invisible.

Only the maiden, voluptuous, cream-skinned, thick-haired, is valued in her power.

But the maiden’s power is only skin deep.

She does not know yet how to love herself.

She does not know yet how to express her full truth.

She does not know yet how to access those parts of herself that are indestructible, tempered by birth, old age, sickness, and death.

Only the crone can do this.

The crone is the witch, the wise woman, the shamanka, the sorceress.

It is she who lived in the woods or at the edge of the village.

Those who are on the brink of life and death, birthing mothers, diseased elders, broken hearted warriors, seek her out.

The crone can see every situation for exactly what it is.

She can deliver the medicine, even if it burns or causes more suffering before the healing can begin.

The patriarchy fears the crone, for she represents a completely different kind of power than we see alive in the world today.

Her power is mysterious, internal, intuitive, and fierce.

It is rare to find a crone now and every community needs one.

Crones do not live outside of us, they live within us.

In women and men.  In the young and the old.

You can be eighty and still not be a crone.

You can be twenty-five and be deeply in touch with her.

Your inner crone reflects your relationship to your inner life.

A rich inner life cultivates wisdom and courage.

The crone is the gatekeeper of these.

We need to access the crone, when we are afraid to speak what is on our minds, or cannot find our truth or feel our power.

If we have a hard time making a decision we need to call on her.

She exists in quiet moments.

She is the voice of clarity that rings through the confusion when we turn inwards and listen.

Her voice gets stronger and louder the more we trust and confide in her.

She likes to cackle and poke fun.  She likes to be trickster and cause a spectacle.

She does not settle for anything other than naked truth in any situation.

These are not my words, they are words I came across many years ago and found again whilst clearing my stuff out, I had kept it on an old USB. I don’t remember where it came from, so cannot credit the author, despite a bit of searching the web. But I love this and wished to share it with you. Especially if you feel an affinity with her energy.

This is her time I feel, she is rising. This is our time to greet and embrace her, become her, as the patriarchy diminishes and the era of unity and oneness becomes. Men, if you are feeling uncomfortable with an uprising of feminine energies, it is only so that equilibrium can be reached. Let your own feminine energies rise up, don’t deny them. Every one of us is, and always has been, a blend of masculine and feminine energy. And now we are coming together as one.

Beltane Story

Today is Beltane and here is a rare Saturday post.  When I was a child, I began to receive glimpses of one of my past lives, the one that I learned about first.  I remembered being a young woman living on an island off the coast of present-day Wales, called Ynys Mon, otherwise known as Anglesey.  I was there in 60AD. I will try to recount a little of what I remember.

I didn’t grow up on Ynys Mon but nearby Snowdonia, travelling to Ynys Mon for sanctuary because things were unstable in Britain.  There was no England, Scotland or Wales at the time, only Britain, we called the land Pryd or Bryd back then.  There were Romans in Britain, they had come to claim our lands. It was said they traded British people as slaves throughout their empire, as well as British dogs and horses, which were highly prized throughout the continent.  I could go on about all the horrible things they did but I won’t, suffice it to say, they were the enemy to me and mine.  British tribes, across the lands were making individual decisions whether to go in with them, try to keep their heads down or downright resist.  I lived in an area that resisted and, luckily, the mountainous landscape made things difficult for the Romans. So, a fighting resistance was created. My brothers, mother and father left to fight and support the resistance.  Only I stayed to tend the homestead.  But the day came when I had to pack up and leave.  I travelled with my animals and others of my tribe to Ynys Mon, for that was the safest place we knew.

I already knew the island, my mother had taken me many times since childhood to visit the Temple of the Goddess cradled below what is now called Holy Mountain. I made my way to the head Priestess who knew me well.  Soon, I was immersed again in the wisdom, mysteries and blessings of the Goddess.  I loved it there.  Ynys Mon was known as the stronghold of the Druids.  There were a number of Druid strongholds throughout Britain but this was the main headquarters.

It is believed today that British people were Celtic then.  I must explain, people in Britain were, for the most part, British, and belonged to an ancestry that led back to the oldest days in the island.  What was Celtic was the new culture, fashion and style that people adopted.  It came from the continent, brought in by traders, travellers and a handful of wealthy settlers.  Clothes, artefacts, attitudes and behaviours had taken on a continental flavour but we didn’t know the word ‘Celtic’ back then.

We celebrated the yearly festivals, more than the four we know today, my favourite was Beltane.  The sacred festival fell from dusk, when fires were lit to ignite the dark, to the next dusk when fires were quenched to invite back the night, safe in the knowledge that light and heat had been kindled for another year.  There were fires everywhere throughout the land, big and small.  They were often built in avenues and everyone drove their animals along the middle as they invoked the fire spirits to purify the animals.

The festival atmosphere started a moon earlier and lasted the entire moon’s turning, since many came from far and wide and stayed long with friends over the festival.  It was a joyous, raucous time of celebration and passion.  It was also the time of hand-fasting and twelve-month bonding when couples entered into a trial marriage of a year and sealed or broke the bond at the year’s end. One Beltane, I entered into a hand-fasting with a man who was a Druid of the island. We had a strong soul connection and our union was destined. He died in the carnage when the Romans attacked in 60AD, as did all but a few. I was one of the few. I lived to be old in that lifetime and through many more lives, holding inside that terrible trauma, clearing it at last in this life time.

Back to the Beltane fires. There were several people in those days who could still perceive the little people, they were the spirits who looked after nature and water and fire and some folks could talk with them.  During the festival, I saw the fire spirits dancing in the flames and amongst us in our dancing circles.  At Beltane in the season of Spring, we honoured the living fires.  We asked the fire consciousness to protect, purify and bless us.  As we left, we each took a piece of Beltane fire home to restart our hearths. Taken from the main fire, it had been circled and blessed by the Druids and Priestesses.  Beltane was the only time we put out our hearth fires, so we could light it again with the blessed Beltane flames. And that fire was kept alive in our hearths and hearts throughout the coming year, until the next festival of fire.

Beltane Blessings to you, my dear reader.  May you kindle fire in your life today and invite the fire spirits to keep the passions ignited in your heart.

Of The Animals And More…

My story is of the hawk, of the black-winged gull, of the bite in the air. My story is accompanied with the melody of hedgerow birds, especially blackbird and robin. And the magpie defines the interplay of this story’s words in her flight.

Voices ring out across the lane. The earl grey, purple-grey misty mizzle rolls over the distant hill. The stillness is not silent because silence isn’t silent. Silence is noisier than noise sometimes, and in this moment as innocent insects glide by, there is both silence and the constant harmony of universal song.

It is winter. It is two weeks on from the shortest day of the year. I like to think it’s the beginning of summer in my optimism, for the sun is now making first steps on the long journey of return that concludes on June 21st 2021. Today is like any other winter’s day, warmer than most, drier than many, here in the land of the Cymru.

It is a still day, in a new way. It is silent, in a new way. It is alive in a new way. And when I feel deep into that energy, my skin creeps as though there is some invisible presence that only my body can perceive.

Above the hedgerow, the majestic form of the red kite is gliding over the tops of purple trees, soaring into the misty distance and I wonder, what is the story that the land is telling me today?

As the light fades, the grass in the field looks greener, a bright emerald green. There are many lives living invisibly in this landscape; hare, mice, rat, stoat, otter, hedgehog, badger, fox, deer, to name a few. They are all here in this landscape within which I sit and yet, I see them not. How many of them see me, I do not know. But they are a part of this story, for this is a story about the animals.

Did you know the animals can talk? They talk to each other and they talk to humans, the ones that are open to hear. We are, for some strange reason, worthy of their interest, despite everything we do to persecute them, dishonour them, disrespect them.

How much has humanity harmed the animals, just to think of it brings my eyes to flooding. And yet, they continue to fulfil a role of companionship, support, service, love and care towards us in so many ways, seen and unseen. Some of us are now stepping forward to connect with the animals and create a bridge of hope and healing. Some of us are bringing forth the humility of humanity to the animals, bringing them humble apologies, even though none can ever serve for what has been done, still, it must be said. And we are holding out a hand of hope and faith for a truer connection.

Some of us are doing the same for the nature beings, the tree spirits and plant energies. Some of us are working with inner planes beings that support us from other realms. All these energies are coming forward now and selectively making themselves known. Some of us decided to be of service and connect with their energies and now is the dawning of our contracts of service that were made before we were conceived in our current personalities.

These contracts are activating, they carry a contract of service for humanity and the universe, for Mother Earth and all that is. Perhaps you will be approached by the collective consciousness of animals or the collective consciousness of crystals, the collective consciousness of bees, the collective consciousness of nature beings and elemental beings, the collective consciousness of tree spirits, the collective consciousness of the angelic realm or the star beings or the Goddess consciousness.

It all comes down to one thing. We are being asked at this time to choose. To choose what we wish to awaken within our being. To choose what we wish to awaken within our reality. And to choose what we wish to awaken within the world. We are really being asked to remember what we have already chosen. We are asked now to wake up and connect to our purpose and as we do, we are coming together as one. This is unity consciousness, we are involved in nothing more than coming together in unity as one with all, recognising the unity in ourselves and everything else.

Unity is expressed through reconnecting with all the energies that exist, many of which we have denied the existence of for thousands of years, even though our ancestors had a direct communication with these energies and beings. It is time for us to rekindle those connections and bring them into the forefront of the consciousness of humanity again. To trust that we have grown up enough, as a collective here on Earth, to be responsible and humble, with enough integrity, to move through our relationships with these beings towards unity with all.

This painting depicts my dear friend, Ian Firth, who transited into the spirit realm in 2009. Generally known as The Green Man, here, he is the Rainbow Wizard at Pentre Ifan, Pembrokeshire. Find it with some of my other paintings in my sidebar gallery.

Message from Lord Merlin: 2

“I am present with greatest love and devotion, for you are most worthy of my support.  I am Lord Merlin.  We are working together towards the fulfilment of Mother Earth’s desire to ascend in beauty and magnificence, for she is ready to step into her new role as a great goddess of love.

Mother Earth is expanding, she is bringing forth all that is truth and divine for humanity, in order to express her fullest magnificence.  Humanity is blossoming as the unified energy of the Creator upon Earth.  It is the case that humanity, in terms of each individual human being upon the Earth, is waking up.  Some are waking first, others will wake later.  Waking up to the remembrance that each and everyone is of the Creator and an expression of the Creator’s being upon the Earth.  There is no separation.  The illusion of separation and individuality is akin to the journey of the human soul away from the Creator’s core, from the Creator’s heart, in order to define itself.

Now is the time that many souls upon the Earth are moving, once again, into the light and love and glory of the Creator’s heart energy.  And this is occurring naturally.  It is happening to those who desire it, who can hold the intention, who can imagine it and who, therefore, choose it.  There is nothing to be done, it is already the case that you are the Creator.  And in choosing to express who you are as the Creator, then you activate that energy within yourself and project it beyond yourself and into the entirety of humanity and the Earth.

Beloved beings of light, for I speak to you all, there is no striving to be done, there is no hard work to be confronted or endured.  Simply allow yourself to be who you are in all your magnificence, for you are divine, you are the light, you are love incarnate.  It is simply a question of letting go of the resistance to your truth.  I am Lord Merlin and I walk amongst you bringing divine magic into your realities so that you may connect with your ability to create the truth of your being.  My love is with you, so be it.”
